Welcome!

Hi there and welcome to my site ECRESSDESIGNS! I am Emily, but everyone also refers to me as CartoonGurl, thanks to my deep love for animation. I've been wanting to start a site of my own for years after graduating with my BFA. However, life gets expensive and busy so I was never able to make a true website that depicted my real talent. All the other sites I did were poorly laid out and not eye catching enough, not something I could be proud of...until now!

I have loved art since my younger days of eating cereal and watching 90's Nickelodeon. It wasn't until working at a daycare after high school that I discovered my love for illustrations went deeper than just watching them, I wanted to create as well. I started small by drawing for the kids in my class and then it eventually grew to me designing posters and events, to taking family portraits for the kids and their families. I eventually went off to college where I got my BFA in 2014 and since then have worked as a Graphic Designer at a newspaper, which taught me a lot of skills about print based graphics. I now work as a Graphic Designer at a web based company and have learned more about the web based side of graphics. 

Anything from designing brochures for the company to illustrations for our social media pages, I enjoy it all! When I am not designing or watching cartoons I do like to do photography on the side and always looking for the next inspiration for a photo to post on Instagram. I love being able to capture a memory before it's gone and I think that can apply to my artwork as well. Being in the right moment and creating something when you feel inspired brings so much joy to me and I love being inspired as well as being an inspiration for others.

In the next few weeks I will be adding more to my site and eventually opening up a business page where you can buy different items of artwork I have created (shirts, posters, cards, keychains, hats and etc).
